Description
Located at PV Industrial Park at Qiaboqia Town, Gonghe County, Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province, Hanergy’s Hainan Prefecture 50MWP PV Power station has a 50MWp installed capacity. After launching, it is the largest single-unit ground-mounted thin-film power station in the world, with almost two billion (1,962,500,000) kWh of electricity expected to be generated in its 25 years of operations. The merely four-month construction of the station marked another milestone of Hanergy in its PV application. Since the grid connection, Hainan Prefecture Solar Power Photovoltaic Power Station operates for 14 hours on average on a daily basis and its peak daily power generation reaches 313,824 kWh.
On August 28th 2013, its 2nd and 3rd phases commenced construction. With a 100 MW installed capacity for the two phases and a total 150 MW for all of its three phases, the power station will become the largest grid-connected thin-film photovoltaic power station cluster in the world upon its completed construction. It will also mark a new milestone of Hanergy in the downstream sector of the photovoltaic industry.
The “solar power plus grass” innovative model has been introduced by planting grass at the power station, so that the water can be used by both the station and grass farming, and the grass grown can help green up the environment and be sold as herbage. Such all-dimensional development model and an extended industrial chain are highly replicable to combat desertification of pasture while promoting the local circular economy and sustainability.
On May 16th, 2013, Hanergy’s Hainan Prefecture PV Power Station won “Tarawatt Diamond Award”, the top one among “Top 10 Highlights” awards at Shanghai SNEC International Photovoltaic Power Generation Conference. This indicates that Hanergy has become one of the top developer and constructors for PV power projects in the industry.
